The full version without annoying ads. If you'd like to try out the app first before spending
the enormous amount of money this app costs, you can get the lite version below.
That version though misses the extensive Twitter integration and ability to store movies and
actors in your Favorites list, and adding notes to your favorite movies and actors.
The free lite version with ads in the bottom part of some screens. If you'd like to get rid of
those ads, please consider buying the full version of this app.
The full version also has additional features like Twitter integration and storing movies and actors in a Favorites list,
and the possibility of adding notes to a favorite item, and will be the first version to receive major new features,
such as Twitter integration.

About
MovieDNA's aim is to be thé source for movie information on the iPhone (and later on the Android
platform as well). To achieve this, the app uses various internet sources, some of which are listed here.
The Twitter integration uses OAuth to log you in so you don't have to give your password to the app.
Some features currently being planned and already partially developed for the next update:
-
Showing Yahoo! Movies reviews, and links to Yahoo! Movies pages.
-
More actor/actress/director information.
This project is designed, developed and maintained by
8Projects.
It was inspired by the cooperation between Dedicado B.V. and
8Projects on another
iPhone app, SongDNA, as well as by our love for great movies. The latter will
ensure that this app will be developed further for a long time to come.

14-09-2009:
The new version is taking a bit longer than planned, mostly because of more features being added, such
as theming (three themes will be available: New Purple, like this site now, Basic Black and Classic Pink), and even better
Twitter integration (tweet images to Mobypicture, tweet trailer/video links).
01-09-2009:
The new MovieDNA service is up and running, which will solve all problems with finding matches. The new
version of MovieDNA will be submitted to the App Store the coming week, with the new Twitter integration
feature (see About).
25-08-2009:
Apple has quickly approved the 1.0.1 updates of MovieDNA and MovieDNA Lite. Thanks! This update greatly
improves the app's ability to find matches, and fixes a small
problem where existing Rotten Tomatoes reviews were not always found.
24-08-2009:
Updates to both MovieDNA and MovieDNA Lite have just been submitted to Apple to
greatly improve the app's ability to find matches. We've asked Apple for an expedited
approval, but we'll have to see if they honor this request. This is not the final solution, meaning that on
a busy day the app can still run out of requests. Meanwhile we are working on a solution that solves the
problem completely, which should take no more than a few weeks.
21-08-2009:
Most users will have noticed a problem with the app, in that it no longer finds any matches. This appears to
be a problem with the Netflix API we use to retrieve movie information, and we are working on solution for this.
You can still use the app, but it will only find matches in the morning of each day,
before the request limit is reached.
